Have you ever pictured yourself surrounded by a ton of sunflowers in the middle of the North Georgia mountains? Yea, me neither but that is exactly where I found myself earlier this fall. It was honestly a little unexpected as you can tell from my appearance – or maybe you can’t?
When I went to north Georgia for a long weekend with my moma, we had a list of places we wanted to visit but we did not schedule anything set in stone because we love being able to be spontaneous. Moma had mentioned to me Fausett Farms as one potential place to explore. Earlier that day, we were outside of Chattanooga at Lula Lake Land Trust hiking and experiencing TWO waterfalls, and somehow, we ended up at this beautiful field with me looking particularly exhausted, a little shiny from the sweating earlier, and a lot worn out because hiking. It was sheer luck that I had a dress with me in my car that I could change into quickly (read that as in the middle of all the parked cars while avoiding stares from people) and my superstay lipstick that I tested out accidentally while hiking was still going STRONG. I call that a win!
Gotta do what we can for the photos, right?
We didn’t stay too long at the field after getting the photos because we were exhausted but I can see how fun it would be to walk all the way through the flowers and being surrounded by their beaming yellow faces. If you are ever looking for an epic adventure in the fall, be sure to visit Fausett Farms sunflower field in Dawsonville, Georgia! It’s a cheap adventure and definitely worth it for those Insta pics!
